How Smoke Alarms Now Works
Smoke Alarms Now is a Brisbane smoke alarm enquiry service. You tell us about your home, and a licensed, fully insured electrical contractor calls you back the same day (business hours), gives you a price, and carries out the upgrade.
Why we started
The final stage of Queensland's smoke alarm laws arrives on 1 January 2027, and a lot of homeowners still don't know what their home needs. We set up Smoke Alarms Now to make it simple: clear, plain-English information from the Queensland Fire Department's guidance, and a quick, easy way to book a licensed electrician.
Who does the work
Every upgrade is carried out by a licensed, fully insured electrical contractor: DRE Power Pty Ltd, Electrical Contractor Licence 147889. You can check the licence on the Queensland Electrical Safety Office's licence search.
What you can expect
- A same-day callback during business hours
- Your price before any work starts
- Every required alarm fitted, interconnected and tested
- A tidy job, with old alarms taken away
- Paperwork for hardwired installations
Our promise on information
Every legal fact on this site comes from the Queensland Fire Department. We don't use scare tactics, and we'll never tell you that you need more than the rules require.
